Commuta is an active travel rewards platform. It connects to your Strava account, automatically tracks your commutes, and calculates C-Coins β a score based on the genuine social and economic value of your active travel.
Earn enough C-Coins and you unlock real rewards. During the April 2026 trial, crew earned weekly coffee rewards at One Shot Coffee in Camden, with top performers winning vouchers from Rapha, Bike and Run and Sigma Sports. Phase 2 rewards are coming soon.
Register your regular routes once (up to three), and Commuta automatically credits any ride, run or walk that follows one of them from end to end, in either direction β no tagging needed. You're always credited your registered route distance, so training miles or detours on top are fine, and a Strava privacy zone won't shorten your figures.
Prefer to tag manually? The Strava Commute toggle still works, and is the way to count a there-and-back recorded as a single activity. Active travel only β driving and public transport are screened out by activity type and speed.
C-Coins are calculated from seven components, each rooted in UK government data β from the Department for Transport's WebTAG databook to Sport England's Active Lives valuation.
In April 2026, Commuta completed a 30-day trial with 32 crew members. The trial ran from 1β30 April 2026 and validated the platform in real-world conditions.
The trial confirmed strong engagement and appetite for active travel rewards. Commuta Routes β automatic commute detection β is now live. Phase 2 ahead focuses on an expanded crew, employer ESG reporting, and streamlined onboarding.
Commuta is built by Rob Warren, founder of Commuta, a UK startup focused on making active travel rewarding β in every sense of the word.
